The visual aspect of SHEPHERD’s designs has long been influenced by art movements of the 20th century.
The BLOK range is inspired particularly by the bold yet strikingly simple graphic aesthetic of Abstract painters such as Piet Mondrian and the De Stijl movement.

Hand framed on standard gauge, domestic knitting machines in SHEPHERD's studio in rural Kent.
Using a super soft 4 ply Merino Lambswool to create the separate coloured panels.
The pieces of knitted fabric are then hand linked together to create the cushion cover.
Each cover is then carefully scoured to the desired weight and feel. The cushion cover is fastened by a hand sewn, heavyweight brass zip and finished with a woollen tassel.
